Who am I?

I’m Richard Morton, a VFX Supervisor and Artist based in Los Angeles with a deep expertise in supervision, lighting, look development, and pipeline development. With over 25+ years in the industry, I’ve worked across film, television, music video, game cinematics, and advertising.

Throughout my career, I’ve taken on roles ranging from VFX Supervisor to CG Supervisor and Senior Lighter, adapting to the needs of each project. I have a strong foundation in image-based lighting, HDRI calibration, and integrating real-world cinematography with digital effects. My time at studios like Digital Domain, MPC, and CoSA VFX has given me the opportunity to innovate workflows, optimize production pipelines, and lead teams in delivering high-quality visuals.

My approach is both technical and artistic—I strive for efficiency, accuracy, and visual impact while having fun creating art. Whether I’m refining a lighting pipeline, supervising on set, or ensuring seamless integration between CG and live action, my goal remains the same: to create compelling imagery that enhances storytelling while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
